BE WELL: RAMONES BEAT ON CANCER
There will be a benefit party at New York Spirit Club in NYC, USA on
Johnny's and CJ's birthday October 8th, 2004... Day would have been
Johnny's 56th birthday. It's also one kind of Ramones 30th Party, even
main event was in LA on September 12. Night is titled Be Well: Ramones
Beat On Cancer. Spirit is located at 530 West 27th Street, phone:
212-268.9478. Doors are open at 6PM.
Original Ramones drummer Tommy Erdelyi, Marky Ramone and CJ Ramone will
make an appearances, and New York Dolls frontman David Johansen and
Ramones producer Daniel Rey. Night is also featuring for example Blondie
(contains Elvis Ramone), Sonic Youth, The Strokes, Andrew W.K., Bill
Stevenson (Black Flag/ Descendents), Joan Jett, Alan Vega (Suicide), Josh
Homme, (Queens Of The Stone Age) Jed Davis and Mark Sheehan. Night
is hosted by Joey's brother Mickey Leigh.
Night will also feature an exhibition of Ramones memorabilia, personal
items and photographs etc. All proceeds from the event will go to the
Cedars-Sinai Cancer Research Center and the Lymphoma Research
Foundation.
Arturo Vega said:
"It was Johnny's idea, and we were aware that Johnny
was in risk of dying.
I just wanted to make sure he wanted us to continue in the event of his
death,"
"I asked him over and over if he wanted to continue
planning, and said he didn't want to let down the fans and the people
involved."

The Ramones are turning 30 and Johnny Ramone, Marky Ramone, Tommy Ramone,
CJ Ramone, Arturo Vega, Joe Sibb etc. are havin'
a party. This show in Los Angeles will be a Ramones production. This
August 16th it's going to be 30 years since The Fast Four
played CBGB's for the first time, and consider that the band's 30th
anniversary, however the party will take place on SEPTEMBER 12, 2004 AT
THE AVALON THEATRE IN HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA.
(The same place the Ramones played their last show)

All proceeds from this show will be donated to the Lymphoma Research
Foundation and the Cedars-Sinai Prostate Cancer Research Center.
It seems this event will be all ages, not 21 and over show, like Avalon
box office stated at first.
As part of the festivities they will have an awesome RAMONES MEMORABILIA
EXHIBITION full of the coolest items, for instance you will be able to see
Johnny's white guitar and Joey's sunglasses up close, and much, much
more.
There will be 3 bands, The Dickies plus 2 very special guest bands they
can't mention, then CJ, Marky and Daniel Rey will take the stage and do a
set of Ramones songs with these incredible bunch, check it out:
