Arrived at the venue Studio 24 in Calton Road, Edinburgh on a cold winter
Sunday night just before 7 pm (when the doors were to open) and
explained that I was here to see the Ramonas and that Cloey had put me on
the guest list. I was told to come in and wait and a lady went and said
to someone. A few minutes after that Cloey came out and I introduced
myself to her and we were chatting for a few minutes then we went through
into the venue where Cloey introduced me to Pee Pee, Margy and Ronny.
What lovely girls and we talked for a long time I thoroughly enjoyed
talking to the girls. They had played in Aberdeen the night before and
were telling me how cold it was up there much colder than in Edinburgh and
that they had been made welcome while they were touring up in Scotland
which is very important.
Then at about 8 pm, the support band came on I thought they were good and
everyone was listening to them, I met Trudi also who runs the Ramonas
website and was chatting to her too. Thanks for your hospitality too
girls. Then shortly afterwards the girls left to go and get ready for
their show. Trudi and I were chatting. Then at about 9 pm the Ramonas
came on stage. Absolutely brilliant. Here is the set list of the songs
the girls sang and which Trudi gave me for writing my review.
Rockaway Beach
Teenage Lobotomy
Blitzkrieg Bop
I Wanna Be Well
Glad To See You Go
Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment
You're Gonna Kill That Girl
Sheena Is A Punk Rocker
Havana Affair
Commando
I Wanna Be Sedated
The KKK Took My Baby Away
My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes To Bitburg)
Pet Semetary
Surfin' Bird
Cretin Hop
Pinhead
Somebody Put Something In My Drink
Beat On The Brat
Do You Wanna Dance?
Judy Is A Punk
Suzy Is A Headbanger
Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue
We're A Happy Family.
Everyone was having a good time and enjoying themselves I know I was.
Certainly brought back some great memories of the Ramones shows I went to.
You could tell the girls were having a lot of fun and they gave their all
in their performance which is very important I think. Come back soon
girls and I would highly recommend anyone who has not seen the Ramonas to
go to a show.
£100 was also raised for Cancer Research that is brilliant! This is
191.44 converted into American dollars.
Special thanks to Cloey, Margy, Pee Pee and Ronny and special thanks also
to Trudi.
