I arrived @ 10:30 to catch the last tune in Ronnie Spector's set (Be My
Baby). As far as I know, Joey did not perform during her set. After her
were two
bands that didn't sound all that cool. They received a few "You suck's"
and "Fuck you's" from the crowd. Between bands their were Go Go dancers,
which made the time move along a little easier.
After that, The Independents went on and did a great set as usual. Joey
did "SLUG" & "Garden Of Serenity" with them. The Dictators played after
that and they were awesome. Murphy's Law did a decent set of about five
tunes. They were very fun to watch.
Finally the Toilet Boys came on and did a Kiss
cover and three of their shitty originals. After the guitarist lit his
instrument on fire, Joey came out and sung "Psycho Therapy, Blitzkrieg
Bop, I Just Wanna Have Something To Do, and I Wanna Be Sedated." The band
didn't play very well but, Joey sounded good. He dedicated Blitzkrieg Bop
to his doctor, and a few others.
He also announced the in-store signing on the 20th. All in all, it was a
fun night but $15 dollars was too much to hear Joey perform only six
songs, four of which was with a lousy back-up band.
