THIS WAS FIRST GIG WITH RAMAINZ NAME (EARLIER REMAINS).
Enjoy this review by JC:
Last night (3/24/99), I saw the Ramainz play at Life, in New York City. It
was a great show! The Ramainz line up was Dee Dee Ramone on guitar & lead
vocals, Barbara Ramone on bass & vocals, and Marky Ramone on
drums.
They all walked on stage with leather jackets. They really sounded great,
they were tight, they were fast, and everything. It really did almost take
me back to a Ramones concert.
Marky is still as great as he ever was on drums, he sounded exactly the
same as he did at Ramones concerts. Dee Dee was great on guitar, he really
did keep the 'Ramones sound', even if he's switched from bass to guitar.
Barbara sounded great on bass, and she sang lead on a few songs and she's
a good singer. I hadn't seen the Ramainz play since New Year's Eve of '97
before this, so it was great, it was a lot of fun. And the band seemed to
be having a lot of fun. There was a pretty big crowd, all different kinds
of people, and the band kept the crowd in to it the whole time. Through
out the whole show, everyone in the crowd was singing along the words. It
was great! I had a lot of fun, and it sure seemed like everyone had
fun!
After the show, I went backstage and Marky gave me the set list, so here
