MY COMMENTS:
At first this is pretty special listening happening, but during the few
plays of the EP I slowly realized different Ramones-pieces. Songs are
pretty short, but really catchy. Lot of great tempo changes and surprises
during the songs, noone can't say that is boring, this is somehow so
honest and give the mind burn. Derogatories don't put too many elements
to the one song, Derogatories are simple with a great way, but they
really work. Backvocals comes beautifully, but not with a way like on
Ramones-songs. EP keeps going without breaks between songs. They've
added many sound samples to the songs like barking dogs, hellacopters
etc. My favourites from their EP are; Straight Jacket, Double Malt,
The Beast.
On EP has a lot live attititude and Derogatories are in the process of
doing a totally live recording to show everyone how
the Derogatories really sound. I would really imagine how well Derogatories
would cover It's Alive-album, as well as Parasites did. The Derogatories
also sent to me their new material on cassette filled with songs: Classic
Rock, Wake Up, Dax, Strangler, Axe Murderer), EP was recorded 1998.
Cassette contain also Ramones-covers Crummy Stuff and 53rd And 3rd. Somehow
Crummy Stuff was strange choose, but I've to say that it really works. I
don't have never liked too much about Ramones-version of it. On 53rd & 3rd
they really introduce New York's street attitude and they know how to show
it 'cause Derogatories comes from Albany, NY. Cassette recordings are only
a very small part of what they're in the process of recording for the coming
release.
CAN YOU TELL SOME GREAT RAMONES-MEMORIES?

I just got my leather coat signed by Johnny, Joey, Marky and Tommy (Ramones
signing happening 1999). Dee Dee and I were too busy talking about old times
that my coat was passed right by him and was left unsigned by Dee Dee.
Johnny
also yelled at me and said " CAN'T YOU PAY ATTENTION? " because I was drunk
on a bottle of vodka. I thought that was very funny. Me and Kevin Derogatory
(Derogatories' drummer) gave each one of the fellas a Derogatories t-shirt
and cassette. Dee Dee and Tommy said our band looked very interesting and
good. This made me very proud...

I have no favorite Ramones because to me everything is just as good!
ARE YOU PLANNING TO RELEASE FULL LENGHT ALBUM?
JESS DEROGATORY:
We've decided to not release our own full length album and to have a big
record label release it for us instead.
We have been playing rock and roll too long and we're too good to release
records ourselves. So in meantime, we constanly write and record new songs
at our friends' recording studio and play many gigs.
