RAMONES THEMED WEDDING EVENT OF ANDY AND AMELIA CINTRON ON OCTOBER 9, 2011.
BACK.
I (Jari-Pekka) asked from Andy Cintron if he wants to write a little story of his
and Amelia's
wedding. I got to know Andy after he ordered one of my books. First time we met
before Joey Ramone Birthday Bash on May 19, 2011. We Ramones' fans has pre-party
at place called Nevada Smiths. Nevada Smiths is only three blocks away from
Irving Plaza, venue where was Joey's Birthday Bash. Andy said the main
bartender Johnny Holmes is a HUGE Ramones fan. That was a great night in
all.
Here is a story of wedding written by Andy.
Me and my wife Amelia are HUGE Ramones fans. As a matter of fact on our first
date, we were in her car and she tuned into a Ramones channel on her Satellite
Radio without even knowing I liked the Ramones! We met 3 years ago, got engaged
last year and were married on October 9th, 2011, in Asbury Park, New Jersey at the
Berkeley Hotel where Johnny Cash used to own a suite. We took our engagement
photos at The Princeton Record Exchange in NJ wearing our Ramones shirts as we
wanted to incorporate our love of music into the photo shoot.
When we took our wedding photos with our bridal party around Asbury Park, we posed
in front of a huge mural of Joey that was put up for a recent music festival. We
then posed outside The Stone Pony where of course the Ramones played numerous
times. The picture at the Stone Pony is of us and our Bridal Party, ( the
bridesmaids and groomsmen).
The manager saw us outside and then invited us to take pictures inside as well!
We had a beautiful wedding ceremony and after our cocktail hour we entered our
reception to an edited version of Ramones. song Today Your Love, Tomorrow the
World. Our DJ did a great job on it! Our guests tables were not numbered but
instead were named after bands. We had blown up CD covers of such bands as The
Ramones, KISS, The Who, The Stones, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Bruce Springsteen
to mark the guest's tables.
A highlight of the wedding was my groom's cake which had the Ramones logo on it.
They were surrounded by the amazing set of Ramones dolls handmade by the
incredible Ali Boyd, who I found through your website Jari-Pekka! It was a huge
hit with everyone and I'm so appreciative to Ali for the dolls! Of course we
danced to Blitzkrieg Bop and I Just Wanna Have Something To Do and had a blast! An
amazing day that I'll always remember.

Ali Boyd's dolls.
I (Jari-Pekka) want to write background of these lovely dolls by Alison "Ali"
Boyd (USA).
She has been Ramones fan since early 80's. A set of four Ramones dolls made
by Ali are nesting in a custom laminated box with slide top. Included
are Johnny, Joey, Tommy and Dee Dee Ramone. Figures range from about
5.25" to 6.25" tall. You
can buy set from here (also magnets, read below). Another set by him
contains Dee Dee, Joey, Johnny and Marky. You can buy from Ali figures
also separately. Personally I (Jari-Pekka) am really impressed how great
figures are, they has real Ramones spirit. I also talked with Arturo
Vega in New York of Ali's works, and he also liked them a
lot.
