TOO TOUGH TO DIE -MOVIE
(THESE INFOS ARE FROM 1999 AND 2000, AND THEN
JOEY GOT
A CALL FROM
HEAVEN... I WANT TO KEEP THESE INFOS IN ORIGINAL FORMAT.)
There's info that Ramones will record a new Ramones-song to the punk
thriller Too Tough To Die, before it was named Gabba Gabba Hey!
Line-up is possibly: Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee and Marky. (THERE'S NO
COMING RE-UNION). Also Ramones will film a cameo for the
movie.
Filming of the Too Tough To Die is expected to begin in the
spring of 2001 and movie is scheduled to release in 2001/2002 and it's
directed by Ali Eckert. Ramones is recording at least two new songs, one
which has already been written by Dee Dee. The best part is that there
will be scenes involving the band playing live.
Film will also feature cameos by rockers Iggy Pop, Joe Strummer
(ex-Clash), Mike Ness (Social Distortion), and Ice T. Soundtrack
will contain new Ramones-song(s) and example following bands: Pearl Jam,
Offspring and Bad Religion. Also Misfits, Rancid, Motorhead, Die Toten
Hosen etc. will contribute to the movie.
Joey Ramone commented following for the
www.knac.com.
"Hey All! Concerning the Ramones reuniting to record a new song and
make an appearance in the film Too Tough to Die - it's true. The film
sounds pretty wild and over the top, a punk rock thriller. German
filmmaker Ali
Eckert approached us two years ago. Being totally skeptic, he came by my
house and gave me a verbal synapse of the film, in which I was very
impressed. We've all met with him at this point. He's a big fan with a
unique vision. If he can pull this off, it could really be something
special. A lot of cool artists and actors have agreed to appear. Let's see
what happens and hope for the best."
