REVIEW OF THE McRACKINS TOO TOUGH TO DIE COVER
BACK
I was really waiting McRackins version of the Too Tough To Die,
because album was to Ramones one kind of comeback to 1-2 minute song
roots. McRackin sent to me advance copy and now I can review this. I
though it was big challenge to cover this album, but
McRackins done it well. They didn't tried to do any too special, because
can see how much they respect what Ramones did.
At first seem that sound is little bit too smoky, but after little time it
sounds great. Bil McRackin has great singer and he does great aggressions
specially on Endless Vacations fast parts. The whole band got special
points of the incredible Durango 95 covering with Wart Hog. These songs
gave to me special shock treatments. They got to I'm Not Afraid Of Life
this magical feeling which Ramones did to this song and it was big plus.
Sure they updated version of the song Planet Earth 1998 (really Ramones
did song -1988). McRackins is coming to europe later on this year and I
can hope that they come to scandinavia also.
Some songs like No Go and Human Kind are little bit mild, but after all
they did this covering really well. Gongralutions to McRackins.
Now we can only wait that this album will be released officially.
